The village of Šípkov is located at the foot of the Strážovské hills, about 20 km from the district town of Bánovce nad Bebravou and 25 km from the spa town of Trenčianske Teplice. The house, along with a commercial building (currently a grocery store), is situated in the center of the village. Directly from the asphalt access road, we can reach the entrance to the house through the courtyard. After a longer entrance hallway, we get to the living areas of the house. Its layout consists of an entrance hall that is directly connected to the kitchen and a large social room, whose dominant feature is a stylish fireplace. From the social room, we can further access three rooms and two separate bathrooms with a toilet. A small pantry is also part of the living areas, which together have 120 m2. From the social room, one can access a small courtyard and two other large rooms that are interconnected and have separately built-in fireplaces. Access to these two rooms is also directly from the courtyard. From the entrance hallway, we can go up the stairs to the terraced grassy plot where fruit trees are planted. In the courtyard, in direct proximity to the grassy part of the plot, there is a covered area that serves as a wood storage. As a bonus to this house, there is also the only functioning grocery store in the village. It stands directly by the road and thus forms the front part of the plot. It has an area of approximately 120 m2. Both the house and the grocery store have undergone significant reconstruction (new plastic windows, plastering, electrical wiring, heating, interior spaces, and in 2015 also new roofs). The entire property is interesting in that it creates a great deal of privacy for the owner. The area of the village lies in a valley on the upper course of the Bebrava River in the southwestern part of the Strážovské hills. This area of Slovakia is sought after for its air purity. The distance from Trenčín is 35 km and from Bratislava 150 km, the drive will take approximately 100 minutes.
